WhWoodcast with Lexi
What: Step by Step Guide to working with Amy Howard’s Woodcast
When: Friday, February 20th
Time: 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Any excuse to try something shiny and new always gets me excited! At the close of 2025, Amy Howard dropped a brand new product, and I COULD NOT wait to get my hands on it! Woodcast is a product you can sculpt and press into any silicone mould. Once cured, the piece looks and feels just like wood, and you can sand, carve…even stain it! I know you might ask, but why use this, when I could use air dry clay or resin, and it’s a great question! Clay & resin are sensational products, and I will continue to use them. Woodcast is just a whole different product, and it’s quite difficult to get a realistic wood finish when using resin or clay. I think it’s important to note that if you are really sensitive to chemicals and products, you might want to skip this class and/or work in a well ventilated area/room.
This class is a pre-requisite for my Amy Howard workshop, “Old World Finishes”, which is scheduled the following day (Feb21st). Both classes are online via zoom, are recorded and will have a download option. I listed these classes separately, as some of you will wish to do just the woodcast workshop only. Old World Finishes will be heavy on product and is an all day workshop.
Class Supplies:
· Nitrile Gloves, optional mask
· Bottle Acetone
