Watercolor & Beyond: Canvas, Resin & Ground Edition
What: Step by Step Guided Watercolor Lesson
When: Two Opportunities to Watch (1 LIVE Zoom Lesson and/or 1 Replay each week)
Wednesday Mornings, 9:30am to 11:30am PST January 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th
This round of Watercolor & Beyond is largely about watercoloring on canvas – focusing on the use of a variety of grounds and capturing that texture. This round, there are no kits included, so you’ll want to pick up a value pack of 8x10 canvas panels. These are wonderful to paint on, inexpensive & best of all they pop right into frames for a fabulous finished effect! We will also use pre-cast resin pieces, and although this is listed as an optional element, I will demo how I make them in class. I know some of you have not cast resin yet, so I’ll cast in class, but you’ll need to purchase quick cure resin and have some sort of silicone mould to use (safety first – you have to have nitrile gloves!!). A variety of “antiquing” effects will be applied to these pieces, so another optional item is waxes (dark brown, clear and/or gold). It’s a heavy supply list, but most of us have something that be used as a substitute, so if you have any questions about possible other options – don’t hesitate to ask!!
