For all you fabulous beginner watercolor girlies or those of you simply wanting a fun excuse to play on a Saturday morning, I have a fun mixed media/watercolor class for you! We will be featuring Jessica Roux’s coloring book, Floriography for a second round of monthly classes. It’s important you get the copy of the one hyperlinked in this supply list, as this one is an adult coloring book. On the second Saturday of each month, we will begin our lesson with a warm up sketch lesson. Trust me, these are wonderfully easy, and you’ll slowly build up confidence in your ability to sketch flowers. I pull photos of the featured flower each month, and I break down the process for drawing what you see. Then we’ll begin painting our featured flower (in Jessica’s book). You might opt to use Watercolor or Gouache – totally up to you! I love to add additional details like stamping, ephemera etc to create our own assemblages. Jessica has drawn all these beautiful flowers, but we get to choose how to paint and decorate them further – sky is the limit!

As with all of the book study classes I teach, I mix and match the techniques and supplies outlined in the books. I use the book as a loose reference, which also encourages you to think outside of the box in the outlined lessons. I encourage you to find your own voice through these exercises and really explore those creative liberties. The purchase of a Floriography coloring book is required for this class, so please be sure to snag your copy as soon as possible. These are our lessons for the next four months:

July11-Passion Flower, August 8-Hellebore, September12-Belledonna & October 10-A Bouquet for Bitter Ends (no sketching this final lesson, as we will focus on painting the full bouquet and adding lovely details.

Classroom/Class Outline/Intellectual Property

Facebook Messenger Classroom - We have a private Facebook Messenger group for each of my online classes. If we are not “friends” already on Facebook, please send me a friend request here. I will add you to this Messenger group. It’s a place to communicate with fellow students, share work, and ask questions.

If you are a brand new student with me, you will receive an email from Lexi.Grenzer@gmail.com, which will include your first class outline. It is EXTREMELY important that you send me a friend request on Facebook, as we use FB Messenger for all class communication. Once we are “friends” on FB, I will add you to this private Messenger group. Keep in mind that I create a new messenger group for each and every one of my classes. In this messenger string, the very first message in the group will include your class outline, a zoom link for joining the class and any pertinent class information. Once you have taken at least one class with me, I will no longer send your class outlines via email. You will automatically be added to the corresponding FB Messenger classroom, where you will find all class details. If you have any questions, please always feel free to shoot me an email – I’m here to help whenever I can.

Please do not license the content created in my classes, duplicate/copy or reteach the classes/content (online, in person or via recording). These courses are intended for your own personal growth, and I’m delighted to share my love of art with you!
