The specimen card is one of my favorite etchings. As a long time lover of scientific collections and field studies, the image stirs up the the curious child in me. Hanging from a large hammered sterling silver ring, dangle a large specimen card brass etching, a tiny field collection tag (also etched brass) and a pearl wrapped with a sterling headpin. I have used a combination of large faceted citrine stones and pearls, which have been stitched in with soft champagne colored crochet work. I adore pieces that can be worn in multiple ways and this piece does just that. As a single long strand, the necklace hangs at around 19" long (perfect for layering), however it can be double strung and is roughly 16". A large vintage mother of pearl button is the necklace's closure, so when double looped, the beautifully elegant pearl button shines.
