Ohhh boy, have I got a fun day planned for you! Join me for a day filled with leather painting techniques that you can apply to shoes, bags, accessories…any leather surface you can imagine!! This day will be spent painting shoes, but once you’ve mastered the technique, I feel confident that you’ll be painting anything in site! I typically use and have a more folk art style in my application, but if you have experience in other styles, you are more than welcome to apply them to your shoes! The focus will be primarily on flowers, as they are the most neutral, but just imagine if you did something abstract with bold and wild colors, even using stencils!!! Scared of making mistakes? Don’t worry, it’s an acrylic base, so you can simply let your booboo dry and then paint over it – easy peasy! If you’re not big on painted shoes, consider painting on a leather bag, a leather journal cover or have some leather cuffs ready to go – truly this can be applied to any leather surface. I absolutely cannot wait to see all of the incredible leather accessories to come out of this class, so join us & get painty with me!!!

Supplies (please have these ready for class):

Please use this link to get to the ANGELUS WEBSITE

*You can use suede, but they soak up a ton of paint and aren’t completely smooth

**The two-strap Birkenstock style in my samples were from Costco, they are the Sketcher Two Strap Sandal. However the salmon colored close-toe sample are a real Birkenstock. I highly recommend getting the white leather, as it’s usually a lot cheaper, and we’re painting over them anyway.

Here are some links I found that might be helpful:

Walmart (limited sizes left)

Costco (limited sizes left)

Simply type two strap sandals online and you’ll find a ton of options. Just remember the suede can be used, it just absorbs a bunch of paint.
